Adjustable hinges for log cabin doors
Variations of these hinges are commonly used to hang log cabin doors and windows - these are by far the strongest and most advanced option (others only have 2 adjustments or possibly none at all!).
Each hinge is made of 2 parts -
Bottom part is the male half and has 1 adjuster (using an Allen key) which adjusts how far away from the frame it is located.
Top half hooks onto the bottom part (the door has to be in the open position to do this), it is lined with a frictionless, maintenance-free nylon plastic insert and has 2 adjusters-
1) Adjusts how far away from the door from the hinge knuckle (using an Allen key)
2) Adjusts the height of the door without needing to "reposition" where the hinges are fixed (about 5mm of height adjustment, again using an Allen key).
Both halves have 2 "prongs", 1 is threaded to screw into the door or frame (and used as an adjuster) and the other is smooth and just slides in to act as a stabiliser.
If you are planning to use these as a straight replacement for your existing hinges, then please check the spacing of the "prongs" as they can vary between different brands. If they don't match then it is just a simple case of drilling some fresh (8mm) pilot holes).
NB - these hinges rely on the door being rebates around the edge of the frame - the top half of the hinge screws into the edge for the door and the bottom half screws into the face side of the frame. If your door and frame are flush with each other, then DO NOT order them as they will not be suitable -
