Dutch Barn Garden Shed
The Dutch Barn Garden Shed is named after the buildings constructed by the original Dutch settlers in North America. The unique roof style is quick to install but gives maximum internal space for an apex style roof shed. The end result is a high quality feature building finished with individual style which will look great in any garden. The Dutch Barn not only looks great with its stylish curved roof, it also provides better storage capacity than a standard apex roof. Add this to the significant head height, it is a truly airy garden building.

This unusual but attractive traditional Dutch barn garden shed has a roof design is exceptionally functional. This is the reason why the Dutch settlers built this exact design - the most internal space for for given floor area. The added benefit is the extra angled joint in the roof actually makes it stronger due to the triangulation. By the same token, the extra "bulge" in the barn roof profile also gives more storage area. Large full height double doors give great accessibility into the voluminous interior storage space. The extra high eaves with the Dutch barn design provides massive storage height in the roof area, where we provide an 800mm deep loft area for even more storage.
All real wood - no cheap sheet material
Obviously the 12mm thick exterior cladding is made from timber shiplap but we also use 12mm thick real wood boards for the roof and the floor as well. We do not use any cheap sheet materials such as OSB or chipboard – beware of buildings that use 11mm or even thinner 8mm OSB / chipboard roofs and floors that will not stand the test of time.
